Assistant Caretaker job summary
We are looking for someone who has basic DIY skills, is a team
player but is also self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative, is
enthusiastic and adaptable so is able to respond to the varying demands of the
role and has a calm, caring and friendly manner.
The working hours are from 7am to 11am Monday to Friday i.e.
20 hours per week.
Applications will be considered from candidates who would prefer
to work term time only i.e. 39 weeks or full time i.e. 52 weeks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for unlocking the school and
preparing the school so that it is ready for the pupils to arrive. You will have
the opportunity to work closely with our experienced caretaker and as part of a
supportive, hardworking and friendly team. You will be supported in continual
professional development which will allow you to enhance and further develop
your skills.

Ashley is a large primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 (Reception to Year 6). Since September 2021, we have had three classes in each year group, with 630 pupils in the school. We benefit from a huge site which includes a large playing field and a forest school area, where children experience outdoor learning such as gardening, bee-keeping and scientific study.
