Assistant Caretaker job summary

A vacancy has come up for an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Caretaker to work alongside our Site Supervisor.

You will be responsible for ensuring the environment (inside and out) is safe, well maintained and meets Health and Safety requirements. Duties will include premises management, maintenance, liaising with contractors and ensuring the security of the buildings and site.

You will have a friendly and helpful outlook, possess the ability to be a team player as well as working on your own initiative. Excellent customer services skills, including good communication and a flexible approach, is vital to the success of this role. You will have good knowledge of DIY and general maintenance and grounds skills as well as being confident when using computers and a variety of computer based systems.

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent team work, organisation and attention to detail. They will need to have a friendly, flexible “hands on” approach and the ability to relate confidently and appropriately with all users of the school.

You will be expected to be flexible with times, especially during the school holidays and to cover when the Site Supervisor is not available.
