We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and hard-working Assistant Caretaker to join our dedicated team of staff at Wheelock Primary School.

About the Role

  • Position: Assistant Caretaker
  • Hours: 25 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 12:30 to 18:00, 30min break included)
  • Weeks: 52 weeks per year
  • Salary: £16,754 (actual)
  • Contract: Permanent

  • A proactive and hands-on individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming school environment.
  • Someone with the initiative to tackle maintenance issues and the vision to support ongoing improvements to our site and grounds.
  • A strong team player who can build positive relationships with staff, contractors and suppliers.
  • Confident in carrying out site checks, cleaning duties and ensuring the school is secure and ready each day.
  • Comfortable using IT systems and supporting health and safety compliance.

Desirable: Experience in a caretaking or site management role, with knowledge of health and safety requirements.
