The Role: 

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our friendly team as maternity cover, for one year in the first instance.  You will be key in the cover of the kitchen, ensuring preparation and service of high-quality meals for our pupils and staff, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and complies with all health and safety regulations. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • The preparation and serving of meals. 
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen and dining area. 
  • Following food hygiene and health and safety standards. 
  • Assisting with stock control and storage. 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn. 
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider team. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Knowledge of food hygiene practices (training will be provided if required). 
  • Previous experience in a catering or similar role is desirable but not essential.
