Key Responsibilities

Specific areas of oversight will be agreed upon with the Principal and Vice Principal upon appointment but will include a focus on quality of teaching and learning across the whole school and off site learning. This flexibility allows us to tailor the role to the strengths and interests of the successful candidate.

About Us

Beacon Hill Academy is a small standalone Academy for pupils aged 2-19 with severe and complex learning difficulties. We pride ourselves on our unique learning environment and our commitment to our vision that "Achievement has no boundaries." The academy has been given an "Outstanding" rating from Ofsted four consecutive times and strives to be at the forefront of new developments.

The Role

Due to a restructure, we are seeking an aspiring senior leader to join our team as Assistant Head, starting January 2025. This new position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our school and make a significant impact on our pupils' lives.

Our Pupils

Our student body primarily consists of children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Most of our pupils are non-verbal and have complex medical needs. We do not offer places to pupils with a diagnosis of ASD and a large number of our pupils come from outside of Thurrock through parental choice. Through our curriculum we offer an exciting, innovative and personalised learning adventure to each of our pupils.
