What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join our Mathematics team on a full-time basis to start in September 2023. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the Head of Department in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning, and assessment, amongst many others. The role is ideal for any teacher that is at the stage where they are looking to take on more responsibility, develop their own leadership skills and aspire for further promotion. We are open to applicants who may be looking for part time work as well as applicants looking for a full-time position.
You will join a highly successful and well-resourced Maths Department that has been enormously successful over the past few years with official Progress 8 scores of +0.17 in 2017, +0.27 in 2018, and +0.30 in 2019. The years 2020 and 2021, whilst grades were awarded differently, remain in line with the previous successes of the department. The most recent results from 2022, saw another impressive year with the department achieving a +0.09 Progress 8 score, which contributed favourably to the schools overall score of +0.28. This is all built on consistent approaches to teaching and assessment, and having the belief that all children will achieve their potential; the department really does embody the school motto of “Personal Best”. While we are very proud of these outcomes for our students, we remain driven and determined to improve even further. We are keen to employ a teacher who will share in this commitment whilst developing their own leadership.
