Assistant Head of Year job summary
Term-Time + 5 training days (39 weeks)
Our school is on an exciting journey of rapid improvement, and we are seeking a dedicated Assistant Head of Year to join our ambitious pastoral team and lead a year group as they progress through our school. You will join Crawshaw Academy at an exciting time as we restructure our pastoral support teams to ensure that behaviour and attitudes to learning continue to improve.
Our Pastoral Team
You will join a team of five teaching Heads of Year and five non-teaching Assistant Heads of Year who are responsible for establishing an aspirational and ambitious culture within each Year Group. Year Teams are line managed by the Deputy Headteacher for Student Experience and will work closely with our Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour and Learning Culture and our Assistant Headteacher responsible for Inclusion. The Pastoral team is also supported by our Senior Pastoral Leader.
Our Pastoral Team endeavour to encourage all students to succeed and we are ambitious both for our young people and for the school as a whole. Many of our colleagues have been at the school for many years and there is real feeling of being part of the Crawshaw family.

We are a mixed 11-18 Academy with a comprehensive intake; the majority of whom live in the Pudsey Area. The proportion of students supported by the pupil premium is average as is the proportion of students supported at school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs. We have strong links with the Pudsey Community and work in partnership with Priesthorpe School and Pudsey Grangefield at Post-16 level.
