What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Head with responsibility for SEND and our Resource Provision, working alongside our Inclusion team. You will work as one of the school’s senior leaders to support children with a range of additional and special educational needs across the school.
Barlow Hall is an inclusive school and the candidate will need to demonstrate their drive to support children to achieve positive outcomes. The Assistant Head will work alongside families and staff to include children in our successful school.
We are looking for someone to take up post as soon as possible but would be willing to wait until January 2026 for the right candidate.
Connect Alliance Trust, based in Manchester, is a new multi academy trust forming in September 2025 through the merger of two existing trusts, M20 Learning Trust and LINK Learning Trust, along with Northenden Community Primary School and Cavendish Primary School who are currently two maintained schools converting to academies.
This merger presents a unique opportunity to build a stronger family of schools, enhancing educational standards and opportunities for our local communities.
In this new role in this new trust, you will work as part of the Senior Leadership team alongside the other Assistant Heads, under the direction of the Headteacher to support a positive curriculum for children that have barriers to learning. You will be an integral part of the school’s inclusive culture that supports our pupils to achieve.

Barlow Hall Primary School is a mainstream school located in Chorlton, Manchester and is part of Link Learning Trust with Brookburn Community Primary School. We currently have 268 children on roll, our school has a two year old provision, we lead the Children’s Centre and have a Resource Provision for 7 children with autism and Development Language Delay (DLD).
Our children come from a variety of backgrounds, religions and cultures. More than two thirds of our school population come from ethnic minority backgrounds with about 40% of our children having English as an additional language. Approximately 35% of our children have some level of SEND. 45% of children are eligible for pupil premium funding.
