Assistant Headteacher - SENDCo

Coten End Primary School is a large, highly regarded three‑form entry primary school in Warwick, with 654 pupils on roll. We are exceptionally proud of our dedicated and caring staff team, our hard‑working and well‑behaved children, our vibrant learning environment and our strong partnership with parents and carers. We are deeply committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of background or ability, achieves their very best. Equally, we are passionate about developing the talent of all staff, enabling them to flourish and succeed.

We are pleased to offer a rare and exciting opportunity to join our senior leadership team as Assistant Headteacher (SENDCo). This is a non‑class‑based role, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to make a significant strategic impact across the school supporting the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Assistant Head/SENDCo will lead and further develop SEND provision across the school, working closely with staff, parents, pupils and external agencies to ensure that individual needs are identified early and supported effectively. You will play a key role in shaping inclusive practice, supporting high‑quality teaching and learning, and promoting positive outcomes for all learners.

From the moment you join Coten End Primary School, you will be warmly welcomed by staff and pupils alike. Working under the direction of the Executive Headteacher, the Head of School and the Deputy Headteacher (Inclusion), you will continue to grow as a leader, supported by high‑quality professional development opportunities. Our ethos is captured in our school motto:

“Learning For Everyone, Learning From Everyone.”

Coten End Primary is part of Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust, offering the benefits of close collaboration with colleagues across the trust, shared expertise, enhanced opportunities for pupils, and a rich professional learning offer for staff.

Our senior leadership structure includes two Deputy Headteachers, working closely with the Head of School and Executive Headteacher. This new additional role, joining the SLT, would suit an experienced and ambitious leader seeking to further develop their leadership journey as part of a supportive and forward‑thinking senior leadership team.

“We all share the school’s passion and commitment to provide an enjoyable, excellent education for all the children and the best possible professional fulfilment for all staff. We fully support the school’s strong caring ethos combined with rigorous educational ambitions for its pupils.”
— Chair of Governors

Coten End Primary joined Stowe Valley MAT in April 2025. We strongly believe that collaborative working across the MAT enriches professional practice, strengthens leadership capacity and creates further opportunities for career development.

If you are a reflective, knowledgeable and child‑centred SENDCo with a commitment to excellence and inclusion, we would love to hear from you.
