Dorothy Goodman is a growing school which operates across seven sites. We have aspirations for forming a Multi Academy Trust which will enhance opportunities for senior leaders in the future. We provide outstanding education for pupils with a wide variety of special educational needs. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate who is keen to further their career taking on more responsibility Our primary site is situated on Stoke Road and we have a primary satellite base on the site of Richmond primary school which is a few minutes walk away. Our secondary site on Barwell Lane is our newest building and pupils here also access resources based at Middlefield Lane for food technology and work skills. We have two secondary satellite bases one on the site of Redmoor Academy and one on HInckley Academy site. We also manage Cleveland House a base for young people who have autism but who do not have learning and cognition difficulties. For older students there is a base at Cadent (a national business with a local site) for a group of our pupils who undertake year long internships.

Assistant Head Teacher job summary

We need someone who is an excellent practitioner, has great enthusiasm and who is not afraid to push the boundaries to join our outstanding special school as an assistant headteacher. We need a great teacher/leader who puts children and young people at the centre of provision, and has a multi-professional approach to achieving the best possible learning outcomes. The post commences on 6th January 2020 and is permanent, subject to completion of a satisfactory 6 month probation period.
