St Theresa's is a very large Catholic primary school situated in East Leeds. It is ideally located for the M1 link road and the main A64 Ring Road. Barwick Road is the road leading to Scholes and Barwick-in-Elmet. The school serves a very mixed residential catchment area (Leeds 14 and Leeds 15) and has about 85% Catholic pupils. There are approximately 420 pupils in the main school and these are spread over 14 classes from F2 to Y6. There is also a very large nursery attached to the school and 104 (PTE) children are educated here every day. The staff team has over 80 members. Despite the size and scale of the staff there is a good team spirit and relationships are very good. We moved into our brand-new building in September 2019.
The school has an excellent reputation and was in the top 250 schools nationally for attainment in 2018, and again top 400 for 2017-19, in the Sunday Times Parent Power Supplement 2019 and 2022. The school is very committed to ongoing, realistic and career enhancing Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The school was last inspected by OFSTED in March 2017 and the school was judged ‘good’ in all areas. The Section 48 Inspection in Feb 2017 described the school as an outstanding Catholic school. We also have a national and county wide reputation for sport in school and work hard to ensure our children have a healthy balance of physical activity and academic learning.
There is lots of information about our school on our website and on our Twitter @StTheresasRCPS
