What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an outstanding and aspirational Assistant Headteacher to join our committed leadership team and play a key role in driving school improvement. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who can demonstrate strong leadership. In the first instance, the role will be largely non-class based but a more significant teaching commitment in subsequent academic years is likely. We welcome applications from experienced leaders, as well as exceptional middle leaders with the skills, ambition and capacity to excel at senior leadership level.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with consistently high expectations for all pupils

• Demonstrate proven impact as a subject or phase leader, with the ability to inspire and support colleagues

• Have a secure understanding of curriculum design, assessment, behaviour and inclusion within a primary setting

• Show strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and a collaborative leadership style

• Be committed to safeguarding, equality and pupil wellbeing

• Thrive on responsibility and contribute positively to the strategic direction of the school

• Have effective communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders
