Assistant Headteacher and EYFS Leader job summary

The Role:

You will be responsible for the effective strategic leadership and management of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring exceptional learning opportunities and outcomes for all pupils. A key focus is driving excellence in early reading across the whole school (EYFS and KS1) and managing the transition of pupils into Key Stage 1. You will also contribute significantly to whole-school improvement priorities with a focus on strong foundations of Oracy, Early Reading and Early Writing.

We are looking for an experienced professional with:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A proven track record as an excellent classroom practitioner and leader.

  • Confidence in leading the teaching and assessment of early reading and early writing.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

This role is not suitable for ECTs.

Armley Park Primary School has been a member of the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust since 2019. The school benefits from collaborative working with colleagues from across the trust.

The successful applicant will undergo an enhanced DBS check prior to employment and will abide by Owlcotes Multi Academy Trust’s policies and procedures and Armley Park Primary safeguarding and child protection policies.
