Key Accountabilities
Support the headteacher in leading the student behaviour management, attendance and inclusion strategies across the school.
Lead on identified strategies as directed by the headteacher.
Monitor the impact and effectiveness of these strategies.
To support the headteacher by being an effective member of the safeguarding team.
Support the headteacher in school self-review and evaluation and in the effective planning and management of resources to secure improvements.
Ensure that the headteacher is well informed about policies, plans and priorities and the success in meeting objectives and targets.
Ensure that identified pastoral strategies are delivered within financial constraints.
Analyse data to identify trends and anomalies and report findings to the headteacher and governors.
Lead on strategies designed to improve the attendance and behaviour of identified groups of students and individuals.
Implement support plans for individuals/groups that are designed to improve student engagement, personal development and progress and evaluate the impact of these plans.
Support with in-year admissions and their integration into school.
Source appropriate pathways for identified students, liaise with the relevant external agencies involved and monitor the impact of the pathway provided.
Contribute to the CPD offer; ensuring that it is of the highest quality, meets the needs of the school and is targeted at need.
Conduct appraisals for relevant teaching and associate staff.
Line manage middle leaders and pastoral leaders.
Take a lead role in the transition from KS2 to KS3.
Other Responsibilities
Contribute to the strategic thinking required to deliver our vision.
Act as a strong presence and role-model during the school day and at whole school events.
Implement and uphold the policies, procedures and codes of practice of the school including those relating to safeguarding, health and safety and data protection.
Monitor and challenge professional standards across the school.
Participate in, and lead, whole school marketing events and information evenings, as appropriate.
Undertake lunchtime supervision and other supervisory activities, such as detentions and assemblies.
Participate in, and engage with, workplace learning and development opportunities, continually working to improve your own performance and that of the school.
Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Headteacher.
