What skills and experience we're looking for

Main Purpose of Assistant Headteacher

The Assistant Headteacher, under the direction of the headteacher, will take a major role in:

  • Supporting the formulation of the vision, aims and objectives of the school
  • Establishing excellent working practices for achieving these aims and objectives
  • Managing staff and resources to that end
  • Monitoring progress towards the achievement of the Trust’s aims and objectives

Teaching Commitment

For the Assistant Headteacher position, there will be a full-time teaching commitment, being supported for leadership release time in line with school needs and objectives.

For Collaton St Mary C of E Primary School we are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who:

  • Will be committed to ensuring that all children achieve the highest possible outcome
  • Can inspire and motivate children and enable them to be the best that they can be
  • Has a passion to ensure high expectations for all teaching and learning, whilst ensuring outstanding pupil progress which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Understands collaborative learning
  • Can work in partnership with the head teacher, local governing body and the wider community to ensure that our mission and ethos is translated into action.
