What skills and experience we're looking for

Co-op Academy Nightingale a large primary school situated in East Leeds and forms part of the Co-op Academies

Trust. Nightingale Is an inspiring place to work and learn and, as part of the Co-op Academies Trust, aims to secure

excellence in all aspects of its work.

We are currently seeking to appoint a talented and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to lead on the development of

teaching and learning across the Academy. Someone who has excellent classroom practice and a strong

understanding of the curriculum throughout the primary phase and who can secure high levels of engagement and

progress for all pupils. The right candidate would need to be driven, have a positive mindset to change and

improvement and a resilient approach to supporting staff. This is a key role within our Senior Leadership Team at

Nightingale; a fantastic opportunity for someone with drive, enthusiasm and high aspirations to work in partnership

with the Executive head teacher and head of school to make a real difference to our Academy and young people. You

will lead by example and inspire and develop others, building on our many successes and driving forward Academy

improvement.

With this in mind, we are seeking to appoint an ambitious and engaging Assistant Headteacher; someone who can

help shape and deliver a shared vision for the future and who will take an effective lead on Teaching and Learning

and ECT development across the Academy ensuring an inclusive environment where no pupil is left behind and all

pupils have the support and challenge to be the best they can be. You will support the SLT to ensure effective

teaching and learning is consistently delivered across the Academy as well as manage effective inclusion of all pupils

across the Academy.

You must be able to:

● Demonstrate excellent classroom practice.

● Drive standards in teaching and learning.

● develop excellent provision for our wonderful pupils and their families

● lead and develop our committed staff team

● work effectively with governors, Trust colleagues and other partners

● be highly motivated, enthusiastic, skilled and solution focused

● have a good track record of raising standards and leadership

● be committed to ensuring quality safeguarding provision across the Academy.

● be an exceptional leader and be able to get the best out of others

● drive school improvement, relishing the challenge of creating our future

● lead on maintaining excellent standards in the Quality of Education and welfare of all

● live the Co-op values
