Millennium Primary School is seeking two inspirational Assistant Headteachers to join our Senior Leadership Team and help lead the next stage of our school’s development.

These are exciting opportunities for leaders who want to influence whole-school culture, improve outcomes for pupils and develop staff practice, while continuing to work closely with children in the classroom.

We are recruiting for two complementary leadership roles:

  • Assistant Headteacher - Achievement & Attendance

  • Assistant Headteacher - Teaching, Learning & Curriculum

Both posts offer the chance to shape strategy, lead improvement and make a visible difference to pupils, staff and families. The Opportunity As an Assistant Headteacher at Millennium, you will play a major role in the leadership of the school, working under the direction of the Head of School and alongside the Senior Leadership Team. You will contribute to setting the school’s vision, establishing policy, managing people and resources, and monitoring progress towards ambitious goals.

You will support teaching, curriculum development, raising standards, behaviour, attendance and safeguarding, helping to ensure every child experiences a positive, enriching and successful school life.

You will also act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), placing pupil wellbeing and inclusion at the heart of everything you do.

About The Role

Working collaboratively with leaders and staff, you will:

  • Lead and implement impactful school improvement strategies aligned with the School Improvement Plan.

  • Promote a broad, structured and coherent curriculum that enables all pupils to access learning successfully.

  • Work alongside colleagues in classrooms to support high-quality teaching and raise achievement.

  • Develop curriculum leadership through effective use of subject leaders and professional networks.

  • Use data intelligently to monitor progress, lead pupil progress meetings and secure accelerated outcomes.

  • Establish effective systems, processes and use of resources so the school operates efficiently.

  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and attendance through clear routines, relationships and consistency.

  • Build strong partnerships with pupils, parents, carers and external professionals to identify needs and provide appropriate support.

  • Ensure staff access high-quality CPD aligned to individual and whole-school priorities.

Depending on experience and strengths, you will take a lead in either:

Achievement & Attendance - driving assessment, achievement and attendance

or

Teaching, Learning & Curriculum - curriculum design, teaching and learning .

You may already be an Assistant Headteacher, or a highly effective middle leader ready to step into senior leadership.

We are advertising Deputy Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher roles concurrently and will appoint at the appropriate level based on the successful candidate’s experience, impact and readiness for whole-school leadership.
