Assistant Headteacher job summary

Powell Corderoy Primary School in Dorking, Surrey is looking for a new Assistant Head who will have responsibility for leading Inclusion across our lovely school - whether you already have experience in a role like this, or are a seasoned class teacher looking to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.

We are a small, friendly school situated in the beautiful Surrey Hills, with an abundance of outdoor space and fantastic facilities including a state-of-the-art library, children’s kitchen and wrap-around childcare. Our committed, motivated team of highly-skilled staff and governors work closely with parents and carers, meaning our school benefits from a supportive and cooperative community where children’s learning and wellbeing is very much a team effort. The children are probably the best thing about Powell Corderoy. They are interested and interesting. Our high expectations for behaviour and learning mean they make great progress.

Our most recent OfSTED rated us good with outstanding features and inspectors were particularly impressed with the personal development opportunities on offer here. We have developed an ambitious bespoke curriculum which places real-life experiences at the heart of learning, and continue to refine this to make our offer even better.

Our staff and pupils would love to show you around so that you can see us in action. To arrange a visit, please contact our school office.

Please take a look at our website and social media to get more of a feel for our school. The supporting documents will give you more details about the role and our priorities.

To ensure that we are able to secure the right person for the role, we plan to shortlist and interview candidates on receipt of application. The current Assistant Head is due to leave at Christmas due to ill health so ideally we’d like the successful candidate to begin on 1st January. However, we would be willing to wait until the summer term if necessary.

Salary: Leadership Payscale L1-L4 (depending on experience)
