What skills and experience we're looking for
The Headteacher and Governing Body of Park Primary School are seeking to appoint an exceptional and motivated Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader to play a key role in shaping the next stage of our school’s development.
This post is initially non-class based, enabling the successful candidate to have a significant whole-school impact, with a particular focus on safeguarding, pastoral leadership, behaviour and inclusion. As with all leadership roles, responsibilities may vary over time to reflect the evolving needs and priorities of the school.
About the role:
The Assistant Headteacher will:
Provide strategic leadership as part of a strong and committed senior leadership team;
Lead and further develop our pastoral systems, behaviour approaches and inclusive practice;
Champion a positive school culture where all pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn;
Work closely with the SENCO, Welfare Lead and wider pastoral team to ensure high-quality support for all pupils;
Drive improvements in attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and outcomes for vulnerable groups; and
Maintain oversight of teaching, learning and curriculum across the school.

Has strong knowledge of behaviour systems and strategies that promote positive outcomes;
Can inspire, motivate and support staff to achieve the highest standards;
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils;
Has a proven track record of successful leadership and raising standards in a primary school setting;
Has a strong track record in embedding and sustaining high-quality curriculum practice, with a deep understanding of teaching and learning that secures excellent outcomes for all pupils; and
Demonstrates resilience, integrity and a clear moral purpose.
