Assistant Headteacher job summary

We are seeking an experienced, committed and talented colleague to join our Senior Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher. This role is as a result of the retirement of a long-standing colleague. We believe that a Senior Leadership team should bring together a diverse range of skills, experience and talents united behind the same values, beliefs and guiding principles. As such we are looking for a colleague to complement the team as an Assistant Headteacher who can add to the strengths of colleagues. Although the current post-holder is responsible for data and assessment (along with other areas) the specific duties of this post can be determined according to the gifts and experience of the right candidate. Our senior team is comprised of Catholics and non-Catholics but all are committed to the values and mission of the school.

This fully embodies the schools’ values of ‘wisdom, compassion and resilience’.

The school sets high expectations for its pupils, and they respond to this. They take pride in their work and achievements and want to do their best. This attitude is modelled by staff effectively. Pupils have strong relationships with the adults here and feel supported, valued and well guided throughout their time at school. Pupils’ behaviour and attitudes are positive. They are supportive of one another, and pupils from different year groups happily interact and help each other. This gives the school a sense of community where everyone works together purposefully. Pupils thrive within the school’s deeply supportive and nurturing environment.

They are open minded and self-assured. Pupils embrace diversity here and respect difference and say that this deepens their understanding of others. As a result, pupils feel secure, happy and appreciated.'

Our Section 48 Diocesan Inspection of the religious character of the school in June/ July 2022 judged the school to be Outstanding.
