What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you ready to take your first step into whole school senior leadership and to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our school? Are you looking to bring about change and improve outcomes for all children? Are you passionate about inclusion, does SEND interest you? If so, Teagues Bridge Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, energetic, imaginative, leader to lead on developing a whole school approach to inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable children.

Leaders and Governors want to appoint a Vulnerable learners Lead who will play a key role in shaping inclusive practice, supporting high quality teaching and learning and promoting positive outcomes for all learners. The vulnerable lead will be responsible for PP, EAL, PLAC and CIC.

The assistant head will lead and further develop provision across the school, working closely with staff, parents, pupils and outside agencies to ensure that needs are identified early and supported effectively.

Teagues Bridge Primary School, places children at the centre of everything we do. The school is committed to raising standards and ensuring that our children achieve their full potential and are well-rounded individuals.

As well as children being at the heart of the school, we value our staff. Every new member of staff has a programme of induction, regardless of their experience and will have access to internal professional development and coaching from senior leaders as well as opportunities to access high quality external professional development from consultants and by attending courses. As a school we are willing to offer for the right candidate enrolment for the National award for SENDCOs.

Safeguarding is the top priority at Teagues Bridge. Children should feel safe and happy to be successful learners. We have three dedicated DSLs in our school. We would also like to offer the right candidate DSL training.

We provide a high-quality learning environment for our children. The environment is important to every child’s learning and development therefore our commitment is to provide a bright, well organised and stimulating place for children to learn. Our library is the pride of the school and an environment where children feel calm and relaxed and develop their love of reading. We hold inclusion at the heart of what we do and our new enhanced provision, ‘The Lodge’, is to support complex needs and diversity. We also have our Zen; this is a sensory room. We currently have 258 children on role and have 5 mixed year classes and 4 single year group classes.

We encourage visitors to our school to have a look around the school to see the children at work and play.

  • Will support the implementation of effective teaching strategies which motivate and inspire children to learn.
  • Has the personal qualities which influence, motivate and inspire others to learn from best practice and be confident to accept responsibility, innovate and lead change.
  • Is passionate about improving opportunities and outcomes for children.
  • Is creative and will lead on developments to our curriculum.
  • Is able to communicate effectively with staff, parents, governors and pupils.
  • Offers a proven good practice across all year groups.
  • Is a positive role model
  • Understands the importance of learning.
  • Understands the importance of adaptive teaching.
  • Respects all staff and pupils.
  • Can work as part of a team and share ideas and good practice
  • Has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
  • Believe every child has the potential to achieve.
  • Provides and maintains a stimulating classroom environment that promotes children’s learning
  • Holds the same values as the school.
