Assistant Headteacher job summary
Workington Academy is part of Cumbria Education Trust, the largest Multi-Academy Trust in Cumbria with a growing portfolio of primary and secondary academies across Cumbria. We are seeking to appoint a high calibre Assistant Headteacher to join a senior leadership team of our rapidly improving and forward thinking academy. Our existing team have a broad range of skills, and as such we are able to tailor the responsibilities attached to this role to suit the strengths and experience of the strongest candidate.
The successful candidate will have:
- The ability to be an innovative, independent and strategic thinker with vision and fresh ideas
- A relentless focus on school improvement, with a successful track record
- The ability to inspire staff and students to further improve the quality of learning and teaching, and secure high quality provision
- A proven record of success as a practitioner and as a middle/senior leader
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- A high level of motivation and ambition.
Upon successful appointment, you will have a full and wide-ranging senior leadership role ideally suited to those looking to progress to Deputy Headship and beyond in the fullness of time.
