Duties for Curriculum Network

  • Assisting the Network Manager in the day to day running of the IT suite
  • Management of printer fleet including installation on computers and printer hardware and consumables
  • Dealing with user problems as and when they occur in line with the SLA
  • Physical insight of all IT hardware-general condition, fault finding , maintenance and repairs
  • Ordering and stock maintenance of PC and Printer consumables and peripherals
  • Provisioning new computers and laptops and maintaining the related configuration system(s) (i.e. SCCM and Intune)
  • Provisioning software and managing the related deployment and update systems (i.e. SCCM, Intune PMPC)
  • Updating the asset register/inventory and producing associated reports
  • Monitoring of essential services including: Network, Backup, CCTV, Wifi, Internet connection, Firewall, SIMs and escalating problems as necessary
  • Recording of relatable fixes and procedures into a “playbook” record system
  • Responding to 1st line support issues reported on the Helpdesk and escalating issues to the Network manager in line with the SLA
  • Updating service Catalogue
  • Providing ad-hoc and planned assistance and/or training to staff on the use of IT systems
  • Maintaining accurate security groups for devices and users across AD and Microsoft 365
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and sourcing quotes for software, hardware and consumables
  • Providing advice to Network Manager and/SLT on software and hardware purchases
  • Assessing health and safety issues relating to the use and positioning of IT hardware across the school and providing advice to the H&S Officer
  • Arranging suitable equipment or solutions to resolve problems with the positioning of practical use of IT hardware across the school, liaising with the Site Team where necessary
  • Maintaining a strong positive relationship with staff members in all departments of the school, facilitating good communication and ”Customer Service”
  • Assisting with the application of the Disaster Recovery and Cyber Response plans
  • Assist the Network Manager with regular “Lab” tasks, such as SIMs disaster recovery Keeping up-to-date with IT trends, with a specific focus on education, attending seminars, conferences and training
  • Maintain familiarity with Disaster Recovery/Cyber Response procedures, and day to day administration of the network with a view to the potential incapacitation of the Network Manager

General

  • To participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager
  • To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health & safety in the workplace

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience of Networking and IT Systems

Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
