Assistant Premises Officer job summary

Based across The Three Trees Infant Academy and The Three Trees CofE Junior Academy.

Are you a practical, proactive and reliable individual who takes pride in creating safe, secure and welcoming environments? We are seeking a committed Assistant Premises Officer to join our team, supporting The Three Trees Academies.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our school sites remain safe, well maintained and fit for purpose for our pupils, staff and wider communities. Working under the direction of the Estates Lead, you will help maintain high standards across both schools, supporting day-to-day premises management, maintenance, security, health and safety compliance, grounds maintenance and building upkeep.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support the efficient operation and maintenance of both school sites, ensuring and assisting that our buildings and grounds remain safe, secure, clean and welcoming. The role includes supporting the opening and closing of school premises, maintaining site security, undertaking routine maintenance and repairs, monitoring cleaning standards, overseeing contractors on site and responding to premises-related issues as they arise.

You will assist with the implementation of planned maintenance programmes, carry out minor repairs and decorating tasks, support health and safety and compliance checks, and help ensure that all areas of the schools are fit for purpose. The role also includes assisting in the monitoring of school grounds, deliveries, moving furniture and equipment when required, and responding appropriately to emergencies such as leaks, flooding, damaged equipment or loss of utilities.

About You

The ideal candidate will have practical maintenance and DIY skills, a proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to work independently while managing a varied workload. You will have a good understanding of health and safety requirements, take pride in maintaining high standards and be committed to providing excellent service to our school communities.

Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to build positive relationships with staff, contractors and visitors. Most importantly, you will share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

What We Can Offer

In return, we offer the opportunity to work across two welcoming and supportive school communities within Rise Multi Academy Trust. You will join dedicated staff teams who value collaboration, professionalism and continuous improvement. We are committed to supporting the wellbeing and professional development of all employees and recognise the important contribution every member of staff makes to the success of our schools.
