This is an exciting time to be working at Coundon Court School.

Our aim is to ensure our students leave Coundon Court academically successful and with the knowledge and experiences that will enable them to direct their own lives and have a great life. This is our core purpose and it’s what drives us every single day.

Our core values of Hard Work, Kindness and Respect underpin everything that we do. It is these values, alongside our unrelenting belief in our students and our driven commitment to work as a team, that makes Coundon Court a wonderful and supportive place to work.

We place a great emphasis on routines and doing the right things every day to ensure we are doing the very best for our students and the community we serve. We embrace candour and consider all feedback as a gift.

We call this The Coundon Way. It’s the way we do things around here.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Food and Nutrition to join our committed team of staff at Coundon Court. We are looking to appoint a skilled and ambitious leader of Food.

You will be an outstanding teacher, looking to demonstrate considerable impact in raising standards of student progress in Food and nutrition, as well as enhancing the teaching practices of others. You will be able to demonstrate excellence in the leadership, management and development of an interesting and challenging curriculum, as we work to expand the opportunities on offer for all pupils at Coundon Court. From whatever starting point, we will challenge and nurture your professional growth.

The Design and Technology department is a dynamic, well-equipped and progressive department that was highlighted as an area of strength in Coundon Court’s recent ‘Good’ OFSTED inspection. The curriculum is sequenced and resourced to a high standard to support consistency of approach that is underpinned by a sound rationale and attracts healthy numbers at KS4. This is an opportunity to become part of a well-established, friendly and creative team who are well supported by the senior leadership team and benefit from three technicians to support the vast range of subject areas we cover including one dedicated food technician. We have two specialty food rooms soon to be three brand new kitchens and a dedicated computer suite to accompany these. As such, there will be opportunity to develop food and nutrition to KS5.

It is an exciting time for a dynamic and innovative practitioner to make their mark. We can promise a demanding but ultimately rewarding experience as we move forward towards an “outstanding” future.

• The school is massively oversubscribed and comfortably fills its admission number of 345 places in Year Seven. Parents and students therefore have a massive investment in the school.
• The Coundon Sixth Form numbers 220 plus students and delivers A Level and Vocational provision. A Level teaching is widely distributed amongst the staff. All our students go onto positive destinations.
• We have a significant, core CPD programme based around cross subject learning teams that is challenging and extending the staff skills base. Our ECT and School Direct programme is also highly successful in securing qualification and progression into jobs at Coundon Court.
