What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal to join our team, working predominantly across our secondary schools (although you will also work closely with our expanding primary improvement team). You will teach approximately 40% of your time in your base school (base to be determined based on specialism and need) where you will also form part of the school SLT. For the rest of your time, you will work across our secondary schools to support the effective implementation of our improvement strategy. Your areas of responsibility will be reviewed on a regular basis, changing as necessary to support emerging priorities across the trust. The initial portfolio will include supporting the Executive Principal and TEAL SLT with further developing KS3 assessment and the use of quality assurance to plan effective CPD.
What the school offers its staff
As a trust, we are here to make great schools and happier, stronger communities so that people have better lives. Our improvement strategy is simple – a good teacher in every classroom delivering an excellent curriculum, underpinned by effective systems for behaviour and support. This role will provide you with an opportunity to support teachers and leaders across our schools with the vital work they do each day. As part of TEAL SLT and our central team you will endeavour - wherever possible - to do the heavy lifting for our schools and to support them with the successful implementation of evidence informed improvement strategies.
At TEAL we believe that for too long and in too many schools, staff have been asked to choose between being seen as good at their job and being a good mum, dad, partner, son, daughter or friend. We are doing everything we can to support our staff to balance the demands of their jobs and those at home.

The Education Alliance Multi-Academy Trust was established in 2015 so that South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College could support the setting up of Hunsley Primary School, the East Riding’s first Free School. In February 2016, Malet Lambert School, an 11-16 school in Hull, joined the trust and the following year, Driffield School and Sixth Form joined as a sponsored academy. The Snaith School, an 11-16 school joined us in April 2019 and North Cave CE Primary School in November 2019. Howden Junior School joined us October 2022 followed by Wilberfoss CE Primary School in May 2023. Howden CE Infant School joined us in September 2023 followed by Naburn CE Primary School who joined on 1 October as a sponsored academy.
In addition to the ten schools, the trust also operates Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training, the only Outstanding SCITT based in East Yorkshire, which is training a new generation of primary and secondary teachers in East Riding and Hull.
