This teaching role is ideal for an outstanding practitioner looking to develop their leadership experience within SEND and play a key role in shaping inclusive practice across the school.

Working closely with the SENCo, you will contribute to the strategic development and day-to-day operation of SEND provision. You will support students, families, teaching staff and external agencies to ensure that every child receives the personalised support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school where inclusion is at the heart of everything we do and where staff development is actively encouraged and supported.

The Assistant SENCo will support the SENCo in:

Coordinating and monitoring provision for students with SEND.

Supporting the implementation of the SEND Code of Practice and Graduated Approach.

Managing Pupil Passports, SEND records and annual review processes where required.

Tracking student progress, attendance and engagement.

Supporting examination access arrangements.

Liaising with parents, carers and external agencies.

Promoting adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice.

Delivering high-quality lessons

Supporting staff training and sharing effective SEND strategies.

Helping to ensure students with SEND achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that barriers to learning are identified and removed, allowing all students to access a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum.

We are looking for someone who:

Is an outstanding classroom practitioner.

Has substantial experience working with students with SEND.

Has a sound understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and graduated response.

Is passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.

Has excellent communication and organisational skills.

Can build positive and effective relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Is able to work collaboratively with external professionals and agencies.

Has high expectations of student achievement and wellbeing.

Is reflective, resilient and committed to continuous professional development.

A recognised SEND qualification or a willingness to work towards further SEND accreditation would be advantageous.
