What skills and experience we're looking for
Starting in September, we are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Assistant SENDCo to join our SEND team on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they can access a broad and inclusive curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Working closely with the SENDCo, you will support the delivery of high-quality provision across the College and contribute to a structured graduated response to meeting students’ needs.
Key responsibilities
Act as a first point of contact for parents and carers, responding to SEND queries and providing support
Develop, update and share pupil passports with staff
Support the delivery of small group and 1:1 interventions and evaluate their impact
Maintain and update the College’s provision map
Support students with additional needs within mainstream classroom settings
Complete EHCP annual reviews for identified pupils
Liaise with professionals such as educational psychologists, therapists, and the Devon SEND Support Team
Attend parents’ evenings and other key events
