Associate Assistant Headteacher - SENCO job summary

Hillcrest School seeks to appoint a highly effective Associate Assistant Headteacher who will champion inclusive practice across the school.

The new Associate Assistant Headteacher will have the drive and ambition to move the school forward. They will be resilient and determined to deliver an outstanding education for students with SEND, have excellent communication skills, and uphold the school's core values: ‘Work Hard, Be Kind, Aim High’.

Hillcrest School has a strong history of working with and supporting other schools, including links with the Oaks Collegiate.

We are looking for an Associate Assistant Headteacher who is: 

• An experienced and effective leader in SEND, who works collaboratively and can clearly communicate a vision for the school, inspiring and empowering others to help achieve it.

• Has the drive to build on existing strengths and lead the school to even greater success. 

• Demonstrates a strong belief that no student should be left behind. 

• Builds and sustains positive relationships with staff, governors, parents/carers, students, and the wider community, maintaining a strong and visible presence.

Hillcrest School is an all-girls 11 to 16 school with a mixed sixth form located on a green field site in Edgbaston constituency on the southwest edge of Birmingham. Our students come from a range of backgrounds across Birmingham and surrounding areas.
