Caldmore Primary Academy is looking for an Attendance and Admissions Officer who strives to share their passion for education with our students and join our dedicated team to uphold the Academy’s vision and values.
About you: -
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and has a passion for supporting the Academy’s ambitions through working closely with the Safeguarding Team to improve pupils’ attendance and provide effective administration support across the academy, thus supporting us in our journey towards outstanding.
You will relish the opportunity to work with young people in a vibrant and dynamic learning environment.
General Responsibilities
Ensure daily attendance registers are accurate and complete, following up with staff members about any incomplete data
Follow up on any unexplained absences with parents / carers, escalating issues as appropriate in line with school procedures
Be responsible for carrying out home visits where necessary, to address attendance concerns for individual pupils
Work with LA Education Welfare Officer to co-ordinate and carry out home visits, meetings and other activities as needed
Manage attendance returns for the school census
Maintain accurate records of communications with parents / carers and relevant interventions for attendance
Build and refresh knowledge of the school’s MIS and other relevant systems
Work with the Safeguarding Lead to produce and interpret attendance reports for school leaders, identifying key statistics, reason for absence and any patterns of concern
Identify pupils that need additional support to improve their attendance and complete any relevant actions
Build positive relations with parents / carers to encourage family involvement in their child’s attendance
Work with the Safeguarding Team to ensure that pupils’ attendance improves
Manage the MIS system for new starters and leavers and send pupil data to other educational settings.
