35.5 Hours Monday to Friday 8:00am until 15:30pm (30-minute unpaid break and 1 hour training bi-weekly)

The opportunity
Oldfleet primary school are looking to appoint an Attendance & Safeguarding Officer (DDSL). This is a pivotal role within our pastoral team, focused on ensuring the safety, well-being, and consistent engagement of our students. We are looking for a dedicated professional who can balance rigorous compliance with a compassionate, student-centred approach.
Key responsibilities:
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Attendance Support: Working with families and children to improve attendance outcomes.
Pastoral: Leading on emotional well-being support for children across the school
What will you bring
We are seeking individuals with:
Prior experience in a safeguarding or attendance-focused role.
Strong communication skills for sensitive stakeholder engagement.
The ability to maintain calm under pressure and handle confidential data with integrity.

This role involves contact with children and provides regular access to children, therefore it is ‘regulated activity’. As such, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act - 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
