Attendance and Welfare Officer job summary

At Lodge Park Academy we believe in choice not chance. Through a high-quality education we work to secure the best life opportunities for our students. We want them to be self-confident, respectful and resilient young people who can engage creatively with the world. By developing their academic knowledge and their problem-solving skills, they are enabled to progress to the next phase of education or into the world of work and training, empowering them to take their place in society.

Providing our young people access to quality education and enrichment experiences is what drives us. Our students benefit from a wealth of opportunities to develop, learn and lead. From the classroom to cultural visits, sports, music and arts and engaging with our local communities, the rich and varied experiences we create help fuel ambition and unlock potential.

About the role

The Attendance Welfare Officer will work under the leadership of the Vice Principal. The successful person will play a vital role in contributing to the culture, ethos, and wellbeing of the whole Academy, by working closely with families to remove student barriers to learning or attending.

Are we the right school for you?

  • Do you agree that all young people deserve to have an adult who champions them?
  • Do you have a connection with young people and can help them feel safe?
  • Do you hold young people in high esteem and communicate that through the way you treat them?
  • Do you believe that having sky high expectations helps students realise we have faith in them?

We believe that to learn and achieve, our students must feel safe and happy. For this reason, we invest heavily in our pastoral and welfare teams. We know that with the right approach, the adults in our school can make a massive difference to our young people. We want each of our students to be known personally, valued as individuals, and given the support they need to flourish.

The Attendance Welfare Officer will be joining a team of adults who have students’ happiness and success at the heart of all they do. We work together as a united and aligned team to ensure every child is safe, happy, and learning at our much-loved school.
