What skills and experience we're looking for
To be able to continue to effectively support our pupils’ needs, the school is seeking an experienced attendance/family support and outreach worker.
Ideally you will have significant experience of supporting pupils and their families and have a good understanding of how to support vulnerable learners, their parents/carers and wider family. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, be able to remain boundaried and confidential in challenging situations. You will be highly organised and able to develop and deliver programmes of engagement and outreach work that sit alongside and complement the ongoing management of a family support caseload. Understanding and familiarity with different methods of measuring outcomes and creating impact reports will be important to the role. You will be able to monitor and report on whole-school attendance data, analysing this to identify key areas of concern. You will work closely with pupils, staff, parents and carers to reduce levels of absence, and act appropriately when persistent absence becomes a safeguarding issue.
