What skills and experience we're looking for

To be able to continue to effectively support our pupils’ needs, the school is seeking an experienced attendance/family support and outreach worker.

Ideally you will have significant experience of supporting pupils and their families and have a good understanding of how to support vulnerable learners, their parents/carers and wider family. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, be able to remain boundaried and confidential in challenging situations. You will be highly organised and able to develop and deliver programmes of engagement and outreach work that sit alongside and complement the ongoing management of a family support caseload. Understanding and familiarity with different methods of measuring outcomes and creating impact reports will be important to the role. You will be able to monitor and report on whole-school attendance data, analysing this to identify key areas of concern. You will work closely with pupils, staff, parents and carers to reduce levels of absence, and act appropriately when persistent absence becomes a safeguarding issue.

What the school offers its staff

‘Pupils love coming to this school. Teachers expect all pupils to work hard and try their best. Pupils learn well across a range of subjects.’(Ofsted January 2020)

The school is set in extensive grounds, and also benefits from having an attached ASD Centre, an on-site Children’s Centre, a playgroup and a 0-5 fee paying Nursery.

In return, we can offer:

  • Well behaved, polite, hardworking children
  • An extremely friendly, talented staff team with a good sense of humour
  • Exciting Professional Development opportunities
  • A well-resourced working environment
  • Quality wellbeing as a priority
  • A supportive leadership team who are engaged in your professional development and success
  • Employee Assistance Programme (counselling, information and support)
  • Generous LBH Pension Scheme
