Attendance Officer job summary
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and proactive Attendance Officer who understands that good attendance is about much more than numbers.
You will play an important role in helping pupils attend school regularly, successfully and safely. Alongside maintaining accurate attendance records and using data to identify patterns and concerns, you will work directly with pupils and families to understand the barriers that may be preventing a young person from attending school.
This is a varied, people-focused role. You will work closely with our pastoral, safeguarding and SEND teams, senior leaders and external agencies, supporting pupils who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged, persistently or severely absent. You will need the confidence to have difficult conversations when necessary, combined with the empathy, persistence and judgement to build positive relationships with young people and their families.
If you are organised, approachable and solution-focused, enjoy working with people and want a role where your work can make a tangible difference to a young person’s education and future, we would love to hear from you.
