Attendance Officer job summary
We are seeking an exceptional and highly organised individual, who will contribute to the promotion of excellent student attendance. The individual will ensure accurate recording of student attendance and liaising with key staff members where records or actions need identifying. The role will involve building excellent working relationships with a wide range of staff, students and parent / careers.
Working 37 Hours per week, term time only (hours to be between 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday) Including working 2 out of 5 INSET days each academic year as directed, with availability to work any or all of remaining 3 INSET days at short notice should the need arise, and for which additional payment will be made
The successful candidate will:
- Providing effective administrative support around academy attendance and punctuality procedures
- Ensuring data is complete, accurate and up to date
- Answer and record first day phone calls
- Input and maintain all relevant absence data into SIMS, CPOMS and other relevant systems
You will be based at Aston Academy, however the role may, on occasion, involve working at other academies within the trust.

Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration related to their criminal record or any information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Additional checks in relation to the Childcare Disqualification Regulations will be undertaken for successful candidates to junior academies. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK, additional information may be required from you to satisfy safer recruitment checks.
