Attendance Officer job summary
Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential? Cordwalles Junior School and Pine Ridge and Lorraine Federation are seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join their team and play a key role in promoting strong attendance across the schools.
This is a vital role focused on monitoring pupil attendance, implementing targeted interventions, and working closely with families and external agencies to support improved attendance and punctuality. Your work will help ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to succeed.

Your opportunity
We are seeking an Attendance Officer to join our dedicated and experienced Pastoral Team. Working under the guidance of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for monitoring and recording attendance data, implementing interventions, and liaising with families, teachers, the pastoral team and external agencies to promote good attendance and punctuality. This is a fast paced rewarding role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach. You will work closely with our Home School Link Worker to improve the attendance of pupils.
What we are looking for
- A strong background in supporting vulnerable families desirable
- Proven experience in improving attendance and punctuality, and the ability to interpret and use data to support pupil outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and external agencies.
- A passion for supporting children’s well-being and removing barriers to learning, with a proactive and compassionate approach.
- Confident, self-motivated, and well-organised, with a positive attitude and commitment to professional development.
- Strong ICT skills and a willingness to participate in wider school and community life.
- Driving licence with use of own car

The Details:

Salary: GLF Specialist 1-8 £27,061 - £28,744 FTE
Actual Salary: £10,346.85 - £10,990.35
Hours of Work: 16hrs a week (39 weeks incl. INSET)
Closing Date: Friday 28th December at 9.30am
