Here at Lyndon School, we aim to create opportunities and support achievement for our learners and colleagues alike. An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Academy for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team as an Attendance Officer. Working under the Vice Principal, you will be expected to provide a support service to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our learners. Based in our Attendance office, you will provide a specialist service to help the school to raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality and to meet our attendance targets.

About You
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of supporting learners in a school environment and knowledge of school attendance legislation.
  • Is able and willing to take responsibility for establishing the reason for non-attendance, making assessments and agreeing plans for facilitating return to school using appropriate strategies within specified timescales.
  • Can initiate appropriate legal action with Education Welfare Service (EWS) to ensure the school is carrying out its statutory responsibility in respect of learners, as well as creating reports and submitting data to the DFE and appropriate bodies, to ensure the school is fully compliant at all times.
  • Is a proactive and supportive team player.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
