The Role

Denbigh School is looking for an organised, caring and proactive Attendance Officer to join our Attendance Team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. Reporting to the Lead Attendance Officer, you’ll help every student feel noticed and supported, and help them get back on track when attendance slips. As an Attendance Officer, you will:

  • Be the friendly, reassuring first contact each morning, following up absences quickly and accurately so no student slips through the net.
  • Keep our registers accurate and up to date using SIMS. Your records will help us keep every student safe.
  • Use attendance data to spot patterns early, so we can step in with the right support before small problems become big ones.
  • Lead Attendance Improvement Meetings with families, working alongside our Pastoral Team to remove barriers and help students get back into the habit of coming to school.
  • Build trusting relationships with parents, carers, students and staff, and work with the Local Authority when a student needs more help.
