Attendance Officer job summary
Are you passionate about supporting children and families to thrive in education? The Romero Catholic Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Attendance Officer to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work across our primary schools, supporting our families and improving school attendance.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and support pupils with low attendance, particularly those with additional needs.
- Build trusted relationships with families to support positive change.
- Conduct home visits and manage a caseload of families requiring targeted support.
- Collaborate with school staff and external agencies to deliver effective interventions.
- Support legal processes related to non-attendance where necessary.
- Assist with the transition of vulnerable pupils to secondary school.
- Deliver training to staff on attendance and safeguarding practices.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families in a support capacity.
- Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and early intervention.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently, including lone working during home visits.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and occasional weekends.
