Attendance Officer job summary
We are seeking to appoint a committed and resilient Attendance Officer to promote high levels of attendance and punctuality across the school. The successful candidate will implement effective whole-school attendance systems and take responsibility for individual casework. This position is offered on a fixed term contract for one year, with the potential for extension.
The Attendance Officer will play a proactive role in improving attendance for all students, with a focus on supporting vulnerable groups. You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers. Your responsibilities will include monitoring attendance data, identifying trends, and working with families to reduce and eliminate barriers to regular attendance. You will also collaborate with school staff and external agencies to address family circumstances that impact attendance and student progress.
