What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a flexible, highly effective, efficient and organised Attendance Officer to join our friendly, busy school office. The post is for 20 hours per week, 8am - 12:00, Monday - Friday.

Core responsibilities will focus primarily on all matters regarding attendance and its recording, management and monitoring. The successful candidate will be required to monitor the taking of daily registers, record pupil absences and late arrivals on Arbor, provide the Headteacher with regular updates on attendance for the whole school and act as an initial point of contact for parents/carers.

Previous office administrative experience is essential, preferably within a school environment, and applicants must demonstrate a good knowledge of safeguarding requirements for working with children. The ideal candidate will be proficient with IT including Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word. Knowledge of Arbor and Kent School Admissions Module (SAM) is desirable whilst the ability to use a range of school specific packages would be a distinct advantage but not essential. We are willing to train the right candidate on the systems we work with.
