Salary: GLPC-E13-19 £29,064 - £32,061 pro rata (actual salary £19,998-£22,060)
Contract: Permanent, 4 days per week (29.6 hours per week, term time only + inset days)
Location: Ashbrook Junior School. Victoria Avenue. Borrowash. Derbyshire.
Start date: January 2025 or earlier if possible

Safeguarding and Attendance Officer to join our team and play a key role in helping every child thrive.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for pupil wellbeing, family support and community engagement. You will work closely with our Designated Safeguarding Lead, senior leaders and wider pastoral team to ensure our children’s safety, promote excellent attendance, and strengthen partnerships with families.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and improving attendance across the school, following up absences promptly and supportively.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with families to help remove barriers to good attendance.
- Supporting the safeguarding team by managing and recording concerns in line with school policy.
- Liaising with external agencies and services to ensure families receive the right help at the right time.
- Contributing to early help and child protection processes as required.
- Promoting our school values through a nurturing and child-centred approach.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children and families, ideally in a school or safeguarding context.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection in an educational setting.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues based on empathy and respect.
- Has excellent organisational skills and a calm, professional approach to sensitive situations.
- Is committed to supporting every child to feel safe, happy and ready to learn.
