Before and After School Assistants job summary

Before and After School Assistants - required as soon as possible until 20th August 2026

Full time salary: £24,796 - £25,185 per annum


Contract 1 - 5.41 hours per week, term time only

Monday to Friday 7.45am - 8.50am

Actual salary: £3,052 - £3,100 per annum (12.31% FTE)

Contract 2 - 15 hours per week, term time only

Monday to Thursday 3.15pm - 6.15pm

Actual salary: £8,464 - £8,596 per annum (34.13% FTE)

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Before/After School Assistants to join our wraparound childcare team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children in a safe, welcoming environment before and after the school day to enable us to support families outside of school hours.

Our very popular school educates children from pre-school through to Year 2 and is part of the Oak Multi Academy Trust.

The role involves supervising children aged 3 to 11 years, helping to provide engaging play and learning activities, supporting snack time, and ensuring children’s wellbeing and safety at all times.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with children and helping them thrive.
  • Can contribute to a friendly, supportive team.
  • Is reliable, organised, and committed to safeguarding children.

Previous experience in a school, childcare, or play work setting is desirable, but training and support will be provided.
