What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for someone who:
§ Understands that behaviour is communication and is willing to work with children to explore ‘why’ they behave in certain ways
§ Has an ability to engage with a holistic view of children
§ Is patient, nurturing and proactive in their thinking
§ Is committed to making a difference to children’s lives
§ Has the ability to support our classroom teachers in addressing the needs of all pupils and in particular those students displaying challenging behaviours
§ Can plan and innovate individual and group programmes to support skills for learning, positive behaviour, social and emotional development and healthy life styles
§ Has relevant qualifications and training i.e. NVQ/CACHE in working with children
§ Has excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
§ Has an ability to foster strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers and other professionals
§ Has drive, enthusiasm and flexibility
§ Wants to contribute to a whole school effort to give all children the best possible start in life
