BEHAVIOUR/LEARNING MENTOR job summary

Behaviour/Learning Mentor

37 hours per week - term time only

At East Park Academy, we take great pride in being a vital part of our community, ensuring that all our children leave school with the confidence and resilience needed to thrive beyond our school gates. Our curriculum is ambitious for all pupils and is thoughtfully sequenced to provide a variety of opportunities for the children to explore and discover their own passions in life.

The Behaviour/Learning Mentor will provide a complementary service to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of children who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential, or accessing the curriculum. The Behaviour/Learning Mentor will work with a range of pupils, but give priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages including:

  • children with special or medical needs
  • challenging behaviour
  • children with a statement of special educational needs

The Behaviour/Learning Mentor will work with children on a one-to-one basis or in small or large groups, acting as a:

  • listener
  • facilitator for learning
  • encourager
  • motivator
  • role model

We can offer:

  • A dedicated and friendly staff team who are committed to delivering the best education and services for children and staff within the Trust.
  • CPD opportunities in-line with role, including our annual Trust conference and awards evening.
  • The chance to join a growing Academy who are committed to raising standards and achieving excellence for all pupils.
  • Vivup - Employee Benefits scheme (https://vivupbenefits.co.uk/)
