What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support Manager as soon as possible to join our team to work within our high performing Academy.

The actual salary for this role will be £30,406.08-£32,261.83 (38 weeks per year, 38 hours 45 minutes per week).

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the range of barriers to learning that students face
  • Training in child protection and safeguarding procedures
  • Basic knowledge of first aid e.g. emergency first aid course
  • Two years' experience of working in an inner city school or educational establishment
  • Experience of dealing successfully with a range of behaviour issues
  • Experience of working with staff to ensure excellent behaviour for learning
  • Experience of working with families
  • Experience of supervising a group of students for detentions, referral and internal exclusion as appropriate
  • Experience of working with challenging students and finding ways in which we can meet their needs more successfully

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the consistent implementation of the Behaviour for Learning policy
  • Managing calm and purposeful student entry, exit and movement around the academy
  • Monitoring and supervising students before school, during break and at lunch
  • Managing late detentions and supervising detention sessions when required
  • Ensuring students meet uniform expectations and applying agreed procedures
  • Following up on behaviour issues and maintaining academy standards
  • Recording incidents, gathering student statements and escalating concerns
  • Reporting safeguarding concerns, including bullying, in a timely manner
  • Supervising internally excluded students and those removed from lessons
  • Supporting reintegration into mainstream lessons in collaboration with senior staff
  • Liaising with teaching staff to ensure appropriate work and provision
  • Communicating with parents and carers to support behaviour processes
  • Maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environment
  • Promoting the academy positively within the community
  • Managing behaviour administration, including detention logs, analysis and rotas
  • Preparing and distributing detention lists and parent communications
  • Maintaining accurate student records and updating Bromcom systems
