Behaviour Support Officer job summary
Are you a trauma-informed specialist dedicated to removing barriers to learning? We are seeking an empathetic, highly skilled Behaviour Support Officer to join our team and act as a critical pillar of support for our school community.
Our student demographic includes an above-average number of learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), many of whom navigate complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. To ensure these students thrive while achieving our strategic goal of 100% disruption-free learning, we are introducing a robust, supportive framework to pair with our high classroom standards.
As our Behaviour Support Officer, you will serve as the essential "safety net" for our revised behaviour curriculum. Bridging the gap between pastoral care and active behaviour management, you will provide specialised care to our most vulnerable learners in a dedicated environment, allowing classroom teachers to maintain focused, uninterrupted learning environments.
King’s Academy Easthampstead Park is a vibrant school which prides itself on holding traditional values. We seek to equip all students with the confidence, knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to thrive in the modern world. Through our academic and personal development curricula, we aim to nurture and develop the whole child so that each unique individual grows constantly in confidence, and develops the knowledge, skills and self-esteem to achieve their true potential. All children at our school access a broad, challenging and engaging curriculum, encouraging learning through well established, research-based quality first teaching.
Following our last OFSTED inspection in February 2026, the inspection team noted that "pupils are happy at this welcoming school" and that "staff know pupils well and understand their individual needs."
The report captured our inclusive environment, observing that "pupils feel safe in school," that "in lessons and around the school, pupils behave well," and that "pupils embrace one another's differences and understand why equality matters." Crucially, inspectors highlighted that "leaders have high aspirations and expectations of pupils."
We are a motivated school, always seeking to improve, and aspire to provide the very best possible quality of education for all of our students. This is driven by a core belief that all of our students deserve nothing but the best possible teaching and support in order to be happy, healthy and successful.
If you feel you have the necessary skills, mindset and determination to join us, we would very much like to hear from you. Visits to the school prior to application are warmly welcomed.

This is a very exciting time to join us. In November 2022, we joined King’s Group Academies (KGA), following an associate membership lasting nearly two years. We are really excited by the opportunities this is creating for sharing ideas and approaches across schools. At our last OFSTED inspection (November 2021), we were rated as ‘Good’ in all areas and the inspection team noted that:
“Pupils enjoy coming to their happy and inclusive school. There is a strong ethos of mutual respect, courtesy and care for others.”
“Pupils behave well in lessons and around school. They value the educational opportunities that they receive and want to succeed. Knowing their teachers have high expectations and want the very best for them encourages pupils to take pride in their work. Pupils confidently ask for help when they need it.”
We aspire to be rated ‘Outstanding’, driven by a core belief that all of our students deserve nothing but the best possible teaching and support in order to be happy, healthy and successful. We aim to deliver the best quality teaching and learning in a school where staff and students have respect for, and pride in themselves, their school and their community.
If you feel you have the necessary skills, mindset and determination to join us on our journey towards ‘outstanding,’ we would very much like to hear from you. Visits to the school prior to application are warmly welcomed.
