What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an Inclusion Teaching Assistant who will support the day-to-day running of the internal exclusion facility (Focus Centre) at Woking High School.

Good literacy and numeracy – GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

Able to motivate and support students to achieve excellence.

Modelling good behaviour management techniques.

Ability to establish good relationships with children whilst setting firm boundaries.

Ability to work well in a team.

Evidence of the highest levels of personal and professional integrity.

Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.

The ability to act as an excellent role model for students.

Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

A calm and resilient nature, with a sense of humour.

Initiative and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organisational, planning, administration and time management skills.

Ability to adhere to policies, procedures and relevant legislation relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality, data protection and equal opportunities.

The Inclusion Teaching Assistant will support the day-to-day running of the internal exclusion facility (Focus Centre) at Woking High School and work alongside the Inclusion Manager and Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour and Attitude, as well as our existing Pastoral Team, Heads of Year and Heads of Department, to provide those students referred to the Focus Centre with the structure and guidance they need to successfully reintegrate into mainstream lessons and avoid repeat visits. The Inclusion TA will assist in creating an environment and employ strategies that allow students to reflect on their issues, teaching them the tools needed to successfully self-manage in the future and to experience success in their relationships with others, staff and students.
