What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a Biology Teacher at The Latymer School. The post is full time and permanent commencing September 2023. We would consider an unqualified candidate with a relevant degree, who may be considering a teaching career in the future. Support and training will be offer.

The Science Department is well organised and resourced and provides a supportive working atmosphere for staff. All lessons are taught in modern laboratories as practicals form a large part of our practice.

All sciences are popular options at A level. Biology results are very high. In 2022 94% of students achieved levels 7-9 at GCSE (with 52% achieving Level 9 and 80% Levels 8/9), and at A level 88% A*-B (with 37% achieving an A*, 70% A*/A and 96% A*-C). The AQA Triple Science course is followed at GCSE and classes are taught by subject specialists from Year 9. The AQA AS/A2 course is followed at KS5.
