  • Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (Term Time Only)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8AM -9 AM (5 hours per week)
  • Salary: NJC Scale Point 3-4 Pro-rata term time only
  • Start Date: As soon as possible

About Our School

Heathwood Lower School is a friendly and vibrant lower school catering for children aged 4 to 9. Our staff team is supportive, and our children are enthusiastic and well-behaved.

We are looking for a caring, reliable, and energetic Breakfast Club Assistant to join our dedicated wraparound care team. You will help provide a safe, welcoming, and fun start to the day for our lower school pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and serving a healthy, balanced breakfast while adhering to dietary and allergy requirements.
  • Setting up and supervising engaging, age-appropriate play and quiet activities.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, good manners, and social interaction among the children.
  • Ensuring high standards of health, safety, food hygiene, and cleanliness in the dining and play areas.
  • Safely handing over children to their class teachers at the start of the school day.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A warm, patient, and approachable manner when working with young children (ages 4-9).
  • Previous experience working or volunteering in a school or childcare setting (desirable).
  • A good understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene (training can be provided).
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive "can-do" attitude.
  • Level 2 Childcare or Paediatric First Aid qualifications are an advantage, though a willingness to undertake training is acceptable.
